"Little Artist"
watercolor (gift to daughter) |
Paintings by Bill has been associated with art all his life - even took art once a week during elementary school. He became an architect and practiced for 40 years before retiring. He is also an army colonel. During practice he did not have time to paint so he started painting at age 70 and is now 77. He was urged by his wife to pursue his long-smoldering interest in art. He is a member of the Desoto Arts Council. He has worked in most mediums but is currently painting in watercolor and oil and has some 175 pieces of art. His style is to paint on a number of oils or watercolors at the same time, gaining a fresh perspective on each as he moves from one to the other. He paints for fun, enjoyment and relaxation and has exhibited his work in galleries, museums, special events and frame shops. He contributes work to charitable fun raisers and auctions.
